This research aims to analyse the path took, during the 2010s decade, by images associated to the brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985). It is intended to examine the way new images are created based on other previous images, referencing and, at the same time, modifying elements that take part in an iconography regarding the dictatorship. For this purpose, a trajectory about the the iconography of violence in different periods of National History is drawn, discussing recurrences and particularities. Afterwards, images recurrently associated with the military dictatorship, which became symbols of that period, are identified. Na investigation is carried out on how those images are used and reproduced in various formats during the 2010s, interacting with issues that were typical of that period.
