Resumo: This paper has as main objective to understand the production process of urban space from Maraba between the years 2008 and 2014, considering the ALPA project as triggering this process, so that the presented hypothesis is that the production of urban space of Maraba, after 2008, is based in the idea of the city as a commodity, which will trigger the establishment of an urban sprawl, based on property speculation, which leads to the production of an unequal city under different logics, leading to the establishment of socio-spatial inequalities, and the ALPA project is the main agent responsible for such changes. To accomplish this and prove launched hypothesis, a theoretical debate on the concept of production of space was carried out and the relationship of this with other spatial processes such as urban sprawl and the socio-spatial inequalities in the light of the city\'s commodification and also the effects of the international economic crisis of 2008, especially in real estate markets. In addition, an analysis was made of the current urban configuration Maraba, from the effects both other great designs of the past as the PIN, PGC, as the current migratory movements and the relationship of industry, linked to the mining sector, this process . It was observed that after the announcement of the arrival of ALPA settled three different logics of production of urban space in Maraba (logic of need, state logic and market logic), whose spatial forms arising are examples of effective city-merchandise and the expansion of socio-spatial inequality as current characteristics of urban space production process. For this conclusion, were chosen as three Maraba neighborhoods spacial analysis of developments since 2008, representatives of each of the logical production currently in force in this city: a private housing development, a housing development and urban occupation.
