Resumo: The present dissertation we proposed to analyze the discursive ethos (Maingueneau, 2008b, 2008c, 2011) of the rap group Racionais MC´s as one of discursive plans that constitute the group´s sociodiscursive identity. For this purpose, we mobilize the concept of global semantics postulated by Dominique Maingueneu in Gênesis of Discourses (2008), according to all discursivity planes, including ethos, are governed by the same of the system of semantic restrictions that draws the discursive positioning in which the subjects in filed, therefore defining the identity of the discursive community that enunciates the discourse, The analysis of the corpus will take place based on the consideration of the instances that interact with each other to create the effective ethos, namely: i) pre-discursive ethos, defined as the previous image that the co-enunciator attributes to the enunciator before even coming into contact with your speech; ii) discursive ethos (shown and said), where the shown one is inferred from a way of speaking of the enunciator and what is said, from what the enunciator says about himself. All these levels of ethos functioning are associated with social stereotypes historically related to the ethical world of which the guarantor of the discourse is a pregnant part and to which he gives access. In our analytical journey, we will also mobilize the notion of scenography, defined by Maingueneau (2008b, 2008c, 2011) as one of the levels of functioning of the scene of enunciation. The scenography, according to the author, makes the ethos emerge (the image of the enunciator constructed by the co-enunciator), that legitimizes 3 and is legitimized by 3 the discursive positioning of the enunciator. We analyzed the different constituent instances of ethos separately, in order to give visibility to their particularities and the mode of interaction between them. The result of the research allowed us to verify, among other things, that the heterogeneity of the ethos (different traits of the ethos were inferred in the different instances that constitute it) arises, fundamentally, from the positioning of the co-enunciator, who attributes positive or negative values to the stereotypes associated with the ethical world to which the guarantor gives access and of which he is part, confirming the postulate defended by Ruth Amoussy (2008), according to which ethos is a construction of reading.
