Resumo: The problems involving rains and gusty winds are considered the main elements in the analysis referring to the Urban Climate System from Brazilian cities, whether related to the improvement of air quality or the social and environmental consequences generated by intense precipitations and gales. In this context, this study aimed to analyze the dynamics of atmospheric systems responsible for impacting meteorological events in the city of Uberlândia (MG). Therefore, collection and interpretation of synoptic charts, analysis of the precipitation and wind gusts arrangement, interpretation and systematization of Civil Defense occurrences, news description and local media features were used. The data obtained showed that the behavior of heavy rains is strongly conditioned by the succession rhythm of Frontal Systems and Convergence Zones from the South Atlantic, mainly in the rainy season, which varies from October to March. The impacts evidenced by the occurrences of Civil Defense are concentrated in the areas that had their hydrological responses altered, especially along the urban drainage waterways. About the tree fallings and damage in the buildings, most of them were the result of wind gusts produced mainly during the approach and installation of frontal systems. This study also pointed out that the recorded precipitations and gusts of wind that caused impacts in the city are within the limit of the normal regional climate, noting that the impacts generated by them are more related to the form of development and planning of the city Uberlândia (MG), which do not fully consider the local climate dynamics.
