Resumo: | Hospital Furniture is the furnishing used as support to specifics services in the hospital, like the hospital bed, the armchair, the dining table, and others. The usability evaluation for hospital furniture is relevant to secure that they have the performance established for them, therefore this study aims to realize an usability evaluation accompanied by a situational diagnosis related to the furniture used in the general hospital rooms from different Inpatient Units from four hospitals in order to detect factors that can influence the health professional work, cause adverse events, offer ergonomic risks and compromise the effectiveness and efficiency of patient care. The furniture considered in this study are hospital bed, dining table, companion armchair, storage cabinet for personal belongings, bedside table, serum support and two-step auxiliary stairs. Two methods were used for the evaluation: the Shadowing with a check-list assistance and a usability questionnaire apply to the healthcare professionals. This research was realized in some hospital rooms from a Public Hospital, a Municipal Public Hospital, a Particular Hospital and a hospital maintained by a non-governmental organization, for compare them. The hospital furniture exists in all areas of a Health Establishment and for this reason they are items that should be study for ensure quality and security to the patients and employees that use them. The private hospital stood out to the others with mostly positive results. Followed by the NGO hospital and, for last, the public hospital. The factors of demand, economy and exposure that influence these results were properly discussed. |
