The objective of this dissertation is to outline and present a comparative-thematic study of the male characters, who appear in the short stories: Lambões de caçarola: trabalhadores do Brasil!, Frio e Meninão do Caixote by the writer João Antônio. As they are suggested, the names of the short stories make reference to the boys-protagonists of this cut in the work of this short story writer from São Paulo. Thus, we reiterate that our general objective will make reference to the analysis of the character category , in a first moment, specifically, the boys. In the sequence, we propose to analyze the guiding thread of the narrative in the perspectives of the personal experiences, the narrator experiences and the stories that intersect the environment and orientation of the writing about the concept of representation. We intend to discuss the theoretical-practical-literary tendencies, the processes involved in the articulation among history, memory and social identity of the people from São Paulo in the chosen works, the language used, as well as the articulations between lived experiences, fiction and social organization.
