Resumo: | This research was analyzed by the Ethics in Human Research at the Federal University of Uberlândia and received registration CEP / UFU No 241/10, the opinion received approval number 410/10. Were recruited 30 subjects, all male, were divided into two groups of 15 people. The first group, called Group A consisted of 15 alcoholic patients, and not suffering from liver cirrhosis, with a mean age of 46 years. The second group, called the control group (group C) consisted of non-alcoholic patients, with a mean age of 47 years. Each person was collected 10 ml of blood and 0.5 g of pubic hair. The blood was digested in a microwave oven in an acid medium, the Institute of Chemistry of the UFU. After digestion, a part of the blood digest was analyzed at the Institute of Chemistry and another part of this material, together with pubic hair, were sent to the company biominerals - SP, to make the hair analysis of blood and pubic hair. For mineralogramas in biominerals, the quantification of each mineral was carried out in Optical Emission Spectrometer with inductively plasma coupled, Institute of Chemistry, we used the technique of atomic absorption spectroscopy with flame. From the data obtained, it was revealed that there was a significant increase in concentrations of iron, manganese and copper in the pubic hair of alcoholics when compared with the control group. The average concentrations of metals obtained from the quantification of minerals in the pubic hair of Group A were: [Fe] = 83,8 mg.L-1, [Mn] = 2,894 mg.L-1, [Na] = 1041,13 mg.L-1, [V] = 0,28 mg. L-1 and [Cu] = 9,6 μg.L-1, whereas the concentration of metals quantified in the same matrix of group C: [Fe ] = 31,2 mg.L-1, [Mn] = 1,066 mg.L-1, [Na] = 399,67 mg.L-1, [V] = 0,09 mg.L-1 and [Cu ] = 4,47 μg.L-1. These data show that intake of liquor contaminated with copper and the own metabolism of alcohol, are affecting the balance of these minerals in the body of patients. |
