Resumo: | Alzheimer's Disease (AD), in its clinical exercise, because it does not yet possess accurate diagnostic markers, is conditioned to the medical evaluation to determine a main generator of the hebratic disease. This study aims to investigate the behavior and response parameter of the pupil in a group of patients with Alzheimer's disease and to correlate with another group without the clinical picture of the disease. The proposed method of research is the Dynamic Pupilometry embedded in a portable prototype, which consists of a non-invasive analysis to dynamically measure the size and other parameters of the pupil during a pupillary cycle using a PLR luminous stimulus. A biomarkers analysis is promising in this scenario, since the diagnosis of the disease, much less important, when it comes to a condition that already knows a patient's cognitive impairment, a stage that is considered no more initial. A pupilometry software analysis program was developed and embedded in the open source computing language in a very low cost portable device (minicomputer). |
