Resumo: | The objective of this work is to develop an exploratory study on Genetic Algorithms (AGs), an optimization method that in recent years has been presented as an important work tool, due to its great ability to find solutions in complex optimization problems and also other methods involved. Genetic algorithms are search engines based on the natural selection processes of the struggle for life, discovered by Charles Darwin at the end of the last century. In AGs, a population of possible solutions to the problems in question, evolved according to genetic operators (probabilistic), leading to increasingly better solutions to measure the continuous evolutionary process. The mechanisms of a genetic algorithm are simple, involving copies of strings and exchanging parts of those strings. To emphasize the application of genetic algorithms, several examples of use of the GENOCOP computational code are shown, both in the solution of classical problems of mechanical systems and in the minimization of mathematical functions, with the optimal solution being expected, at the end of several iterations. |
