Resumo: | This study examines live theatrical performances streamed over the internet. It aims to unravel the pathways creators can pursue when utilizing this presentation format. It is considered that this movement gained momentum following the closure of physical spaces due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, driving a search for innovation in theatrical artistic expression, thereby obviating the need for physical gatherings. In this regard, it presents an overview of the evolution of theatrical language, considering the relationship between theater and technology, the rapid adaptation of art to digital advancements, and exploring the new possibilities offered by digital communication media. It addresses art in the era of online platforms and social networks as new horizons for artistic expression. It highlights YouTube as a prominent tool for artistic dissemination, serving as a stage for a variety of performances. It also explores the pathways of connection between artists and audiences, considering how these online meeting spaces foster collaboration and idea exchange, enriching the creative process and bringing creators closer to their audiences. This study prioritizes the live experience of theatrical performances transmitted over the internet, offering an opening to a new form of artistic appreciation that transcends the limitations of conventional theatrical spaces. By exploring themes such as dramaturgy, technology, media convergence, and the influence of the internet, the research sheds light on the complexities and possibilities arising in this context. By presenting two case studies, the performance Um Grito ao Vivo by the Cia. Confraria Tambor from Uberlândia, and Desconscerto by the nationally renowned actor Matheus Nachtergaele, this research offers insights into the different approaches and experiments shaping the contemporary theatrical scene on the internet. It is emphasized that these productions represent notable examples of how artists are exploring the boundaries between the physical and virtual, the in-person and remote, to create impactful experiences for their audiences. These creators are leveraging the unique characteristics of live internet broadcasting to reinvent the theatrical experience and reach broader and more diverse audiences. In this journey, the intersection between theater and audiovisual media is also explored. Thus, this study aims to explore this interrelation through a detailed analysis of the aforementioned works to examine how these artists use dramaturgy to create bridges between theater and other forms of media, such as cinema, television, and streaming. It seeks to understand how dramaturgy and staging transform in the context of digital theater, opening new horizons for artists in the multimedia context provided by the internet. In summary, this study aims to contribute to the understanding and development of this new form of artistic expression. At the end of the research, the main characteristics identified from the analyzed performances are presented, discussing possible pathways for this constantly evolving field. |
