Resumo: | The work presents a contribution to the study of elastic bodies in dry friction contact. This study is applied to the case of a cylinder in contact with a half-space, under normal and torque loading, in a plane stress State. In order to obtain the State of stresses nearby the contact region and compare results, it was used the Finite Element Program Ansys 5.0 and the Experimental Techniques of Plane Photoelasticity and Tridimensional Photoelasticity. This study envolved three different approaches, namely the well known Hertz's Theory of Elastic Contact, contact under normal loading with roughness and friction and contact under normal loading with roughness, friction and an applied torque. For each case, it has been presented not only the maximum shearing stress field in the bodies and their variations, but also the contact area. Another important aspect analized was the variation of Young modulus in one of the bodies, aiming a comparison of the stress field independently of which of the bodies in contact suffered that variation. This work identifies the greatest maximum shear stress and its coordinates as an important parameter in the study of contact between solid bodies. |
