Resumo: The construction of citizenship is possible through the development of a training process that directly involves a committed education with the competence of turning the citizén into a historical subject, be he/she individual or them group. Teaching Science for citizenship implies discussing social themes of which the students may become interested in because they happen in their daily lives. The direction of our research was based on the proposal that teaching offers necessary knowledge for the comprehension of divers social actions. This work searched to investigate the practices of Science teachers who made possible the training of the student Citizen. For such a task, we performed a case study with two second grade Science teachers from a public school in the city of Uberlândia/MG. While analyzing the classes, we focused on the work developed in STS (Science, Technology and Society), Environmental Education and Education and Health, as ways of training citizens. The study revealed that these themes were approached by the teachers through dialogue, reflection, argumentation and debates on social reality, associating them to the content of this area and emphasizing a work towards the awareness of habits that lead to a healthier life, the training of practices that promote less impact on the environment and a differentiated interpretation for the use of technological products. We perceived that these elements were significant for the construction of the idea of citizenship in this school.
