For the analysis we will approach how the verticalization It has been an extremely important element in the urban landscape since it appeared at the end of XIX century, and how the major Brazilian capitals - Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo - developed this process in beginning of XX century. We will present which services were being inserted in condominiums, a concept that has been developing since the 1980s, and how in the last decade automation has been the main ally in sales of apartments for the high-income population, as well as their displacement to the south area of this city.
