Resumo: | This research analyzed the contradictions of teacher´s free time today. This investigation used a qualitative, explanatory and bibliographical approach of the kind "state of the art" or of the knowledge. For the bibliographic survey, a query was carried out in the Brazilian Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD) of the Instituto Brasileiro de Ciência e Tecnologia (IBICT) and thereby Master's and Doctorates papers that discussed teachers' free time was selected. The general objective of this research was to analyze teachers' free time from the perspective of Marxist theories, understanding how labor relations and social structures influence the availability of time for non-work activities. In addition, identifying the impacts of free time on teachers' quality of life and professional performance was sought. To understand the data collected, studies on content analysis by Bardin (2011), as well as Marxist theoretical foundations and principles were used. Thus, this research was dedicated to exploring the central ideas present in dissertations and theses on the subject, while seeking to elucidate the meaning and significance of free time as a right conquered throughout history by means of struggles and social movements. In addition, this study thoroughly investigated teachers' free time as an object of study within the Brazilian academic scenario, examining its different facets in various contexts, and pointing out both the possibilities and the limits present in this field of research. Accordingly, we defend the thesis, after reading and interpreting the theses and dissertations on the subject, that teachers' free time is incorporated by capital as a form of exploitation of their immaterial labor, thus generating precarious conditions for the exercise of the profession and the dealing with science. |
