Resumo: | In recent years, the relationship between politics and religion became prominent in the country and the world, revealing multiple forms of interaction between the two dimensions of reality that sometimes confuse and intermingle. Our proposal is to understand this dynamic in the city of Catalan, especially as regards the Christian religion, more precisely, Protestant trend. We want to understand how the political space has been linked to the religious universe locally, in everyday life of the town hall and other city institutions. From the biographies of two councilors (2013-2016) who profess the evangelical faith, Vandeval Florisbelo and Donizete Negão, the goal is to map the joints / negotiations of these public men with churches and Protestant religious leaders. We intend to investigate the discourse of evangelical political managers in different spaces they occupy, circulate and act; the projects presented, defended and fought for them. We will also examine the minutes of the meetings of the city council to realize the extent to which the positions of the evangelical politicians are related to their profession of faith and the religious group to which they belong or represent the political sphere. |
