Resumo: The theme of this research is the growth of the operations of an Information Technology company in Brazil. Companies in this sector have sought to increase their efficiency and capacity to meet the demand for IT services by configuring the operation of software services in a distributed way, not centralized in a single location, with the structuring of operations in developing regions. Thus, the objective with this study was, given the decision of an organic growth strategy deliberated by the headquarters of a multinational information technology services company, to plan and structure the implementation of the expansion of its operation, considering the current context and characteristics of the technology sector in Brazil. The interest in researching this theme and specific case comes from the role of the researcher in the execution of the growth project of the company where he works and participates in the decisions. With the technical reporting format, the research is qualitative, descriptive and analytical, and with the technical procedure of single case study. For data collection, documentary research associated with participant observation was used. As results, it was possible to detail the process of structuring market analysis with the factors related to the external environment in decision making regarding the location of the new unit of the company, in addition to planning the execution of the growth plan. We reported the experience obtained during the implementation of the growth plan during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the variables that were revised during the process, which generated a change in the operation strategy to a more decentralized format than had been previously thought. As a technological product of the dissertation, a script is being proposed for analysis and search for ideal conditions to open operations of information technology services in Brazil.
