Resumo: Memory is one of the most important human cognitive processes for the development of societies as we know them today. It is thanks to memory that you learn to recognize places, defend yourself from predators, build shelters, plant and harvest. Smells, images, senses and flavors are also linked to memory. Thus, we understand it as a basis for the formation of any human being and, in addition, their learning processes and their connection with the place where they live. Still in terms of memory, it is not possible to exclude feeding and all the traditions and regionalisms that make each dish the postcard of a particular culture and region from the context. With that in mind, the present work sought to deepen regarding human relationships and their memories of feeding. At first, we carried out a research in order to find what is being said about these subjects and draw lines related to what we wanted, in a second moment, we carried out a field research with directive and non-directive interviews in a rural community in the Triângulo Mineiro. So, this research had as main objective to understand how food mediates the construction and rescue of affective memories and how people create the differentiation between foods prepared on a daily basis and foods made for events.
