This work intends to register the performance of women in family farming, seeking the social importance of this activity, its functionality and its possible contributions to strengthen the directing of organic foods to school lunches. It is a descriptive exploratory research, of a qualitative character, with the methodological framework of ethnography. The instruments for the construction of the data are: interviews, field diary and photographic records. The objective of this study is to understand the culture of the group of women belonging to the Celso Lucio Moreira da Silva settlement in rural Uberlândia in the state of Minas Gerais, producers of family agriculture, demonstrating the need to target these foods for public school lunches in Uberlândia , MG. The participants are settled women who participate in family farming.
