Resumo: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for social distancing as a safer way of not spreading the virus, digital technologies have become indispensable in the health area. Telemedicine associated with IoT technology has proven to be an excellent resource for monitoring health in real time. In addition to the pandemic, the need to reformulate the health care model also contributed to the growing use and appreciation of these technologies in the health area. In this context, this work describes the development of an e-Health system for remote monitoring of patients in home care. The development consisted of building an IoT-based device to collect vital data and implementing a web application to visualize this data. Monitoring involved collecting vital data (heart rate, body temperature and oxygen saturation) from the patient and sending this data in real time via WiFi to health professionals responsible for reversing the clinical picture or even for a quick intervention in in case of need for immediate assistance. The system also stores the collected data for eventual more sophisticated analyses. In addition to the development of the system, as a research methodology, a survey was carried out with health professionals to find out their opinion on the subject. Also, experiments with volunteers were carried out to evaluate the functioning of the system in several scenarios. The work made it possible to reinforce the importance of technological advances in the health area, as well as to present the view of professionals in this area regarding the technology developed. It was also possible to evaluate the developed system through applications in a real scenario, allowing to detect the limitations, as well as the challenges of home care.
