Resumo: This research is characterized as a qualitative research case study, which aims to recognize the factors that influence the professional practice of chemistry teachers working in basic education. To this were used as instruments to collect data and the descriptive memorial semi structured autobiographical, as did a rescue story of the lives of teachers. We selected two subjects of research graduates in chemistry and worked in the school to participate in this research. By means of the data collection was possible to know the views of teachers on various factors surrounding the teaching practice such as the importance of the trial lessons for teaching chemistry and the use of other teaching resources that can assist in the development a significant class, their relationships and institutions that act on the selection process for admission to institutions of higher education, the training they had, ways to assess their students, among others. And by the analyzed data with the theoretical cross was possible to realize that several of these factors influence the teaching practice, is motivating, discouraging or limiting the action of the teacher in the classroom. These data allowed us to reflect on the importance of the context of teaching performance for its didactic teaching, since a number of situations in the school environment can influence the teaching.
