The present study has as its corpus the writer José J. Veiga’s last publication: Objetos turbulentos - contos pra 1er à luz do dia (1997). The work is composed by eleven tales connected by the same conducting wire: the objects from the daily surroundings that bring turbulence for the life of those people with whom they are connected. This work’s goal is to reflect about space, an element so rich to the formation of senses in literary narratives. Spatialities will be read, beyond their function of situating facts and characters, from their capacity to evoke reflection about men and the society to which it belongs. We will also seek to show how the construction of space is central in establishing the ambience, which unchains the fantastic.
