Resumo: | Based on the experiences and speeches of the paneleiras and on academic research or research carried out by public bodies in the cultural, historical and artistic sector, we noticed the absence of research focused on understanding the presence of African culture in the intellectual legacy of the Paneleiras de Goiabeiras-Velha. Colonization remoulded in contemporary times poses risks to the continuity of the craft, despite the power of the intellectuality of traditional peoples and communities - as the paneleiras define themselves - for the preservation of life on Earth. In this sense, this dissertation seeks to discuss the following complementary questions: How is African culture present in the intellectual legacy of the Goiabeiras-Velha potters? How do cultural expressions of African tradition interact with the cultural matrix of the original peoples of Pindorama to form a traditional community way of life that is resistant to colonization? In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to analyze the interaction between African traditions and the cultural expressions of the original peoples, in order to understand how these influences form a resistance to Western colonization and allow for the reinvention of the legacy. In terms of methodology, we used a wide range of research techniques such as a bibliographical review; documentary research in archives, bibliography and phonography; film analysis; cartographic productions; among others. The materials used come from various sources: the community itself, public administration bodies and private entities. Writings appear as an approach to interpreting the intellectuality of the panellists and as a tool for the author's self-inscription. Although the colonial project has historically sought to extirpate the presence of African culture and native peoples from Brazil's national identity, the results reveal that the African presence in the Goiabeiras community is reflected in multiple cultural expressions, territories, knowledge and identities. In addition, the study promotes discussions about the clashes between Afro confluent traditions and the imposed Western worldview. We detail the emergence and expansion of hierarchies based on race, with an eye to the need to re-pigment African history before the 1500s. Finally, the central contribution of this research lies in the construction of principles for intercultural dialogue, offering concrete ways to promote the visibility of the intellectuality of traditional peoples and communities, constituting an essential means for valuing and preserving these cultural identities. One of the contributions is to elucidate the importance of highlighting the African presence through its traditional intellectuality, which holistically contemplates the dimensions of "feeling" and "thinking" in harmony with nature, ancestry and people, both locally and internationally. |
