Resumo: The infestation of areas with phytonematodes is one of the main factors limiting the development of Brazilian soybeans farming. Studies have shown that nematodes cause serious damage and losses to crops by affecting plant growth, reducing their development and compromising productivity. In this context, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the vegetative development and the reaction of soybean genotypes from the germplasm program developed by the Laboratory of Mycology and Plant Protection at the Federal University of Uberlândia, on root-knot nematode and root lesion populations. For this purpose, two experiments were set up for each species. For the Meloidogyne incognita isolate, it was found that all genotypes were susceptible to the nematode. For the experiments with M. javanica, the genotypes UFUL 172 and UFUL 592 performed well. For the Pratylenchus brachyurus isolate, in both experiments, no genotype behaved as resistant. However, the UFUL 246 and UFUL 298 genotypes showed greater vegetative development. The results obtained evidence the importance of studying new materials in order to find those that are resistant to these microorganisms.
