Resumo: | The purpose of this work was to understand the approval of REUNI in UFU, based on ADUFU-SS perspectives and actions, seeking to understand the contradictions present in its implementation and to analyze the extent to which it constitutes a democratic process. Pursuing the trajectory of the creation and expansion of higher education in Brazil, although constituting itself with an important social demand, it can be seen that the process is always linked to the economic demands and interests of the dominant classes. We present the implementation of REUNI in the federal system of Brazilian higher education as a contradictory process since it responds to the historical social aspiration but at the same time responds to neoliberal needs that seek to optimize this level of education in order to meet quantity and “quality”. As far as UFU is concerned, we look for minutes of ADUFU-SS meetings, demonstrations, and other materials that led us to this analysis. Key-words: Syndicalism. Job. College education. REUNI. |
