The growth of the cities and the development of the transportation have been contributing to the economic and social development, however the lack or inefficacy of the urban transportation planning associated to the disordered growth of the city centers have created not very appropriated sceneries. The quality of life of the population is committed mainly when in these cities the flow of heavy vehicles interacts directly to the urban flows in the main road network without necessary infrastructure. The objective of this work was to use the dynamic simulation of the flow of heavy vehicles in the urban road network as a tool of the traffic planning to generate sceneries operationaly more appropriated with smaller impacts in the community. The simulation was carried out with the software Traffic Software Integrated System (TSIS) to physical and operational characterization of the main interactions of the flow of heavy vehicles in the urban area. The case study took place in Araguari (MG), the small sized city.
