Resumo: | This thesis has as main objective to point out the similarities between the famous poem “The Raven” (1845), by the author Edgar Allan Poe and the stop-motion short film, “Vincent” (1982), by the filmmaker Tim Burton. To make it happen, the life stories of both artists were analyzed, as well as their other literary and cinematographic works, in order to highlight the media connections existing between them. For the development of this work, some concepts such as intermediality and comparative literature were highlighted in order to support the dissertation. Therefore, this dissertation brings links between the literary and cinematographic arts, tracing an interarts study in order to highlight the presence of the gothic, which is so remarkable in Poe's works and in Burton's productions. Keywords: intermediality, interarts studies, cinema, literature, comparative literature, Poe, Burton. |
