Resumo: | This research aims at analyzing the novel Parque Industrial, by Patrícia Galvão, as well as some issues related to the Brazilian Modernism, mainly the Week of 22 and the 1930s. Such issues concerns to the confrontation between content and format, political engagement and esthetic research. These questionings led us to the definition of the proletary novel and the theming of the other: the woman and the proletary. The representation of the other in the novel raised the possibility of speculating about the role taken by the author herself in the Brazilian Modernism and of questioning how she deals with the relation of the intellectual and the other in her writing. The analysis made it possible to question the propagandistic feature of the proletary novel developed by Luís Bueno´s critics in his book Uma História do Romance de 30, for we state that Pagu does not leave the goals of the esthetic research started by the modernists of 1922. Therefore, we take the risks of pointing some elements of the construction of a diferentiated language in her narrative. |
