Resumo: | The end of the twentieth century will be remembered as a period of many transformations in the world. This has increased uncertainties about the world order in which we live. As a consequence, the complexity of the transformations generated point to innovative decision-making, the nature of which is not as clear as their need. Hence the search for alternatives, and in our study, cooperativism is seen as an example, if not to solve, at least alleviate problems of the agricultural productive sector, giving more security and tranquility to the producer. The situation investigated concerns the socio-economic relevance of the Mixed Cooperative of Rural Producers of Southwest Goiás Ltda.- COMIGO - in the region where it operates. In the analysis, an interpretation was established from the theoretical framework, articulating it to the context of the studied reality. We note that the development and growth of COMIGO could be made possible through the modernization of agriculture and the diversification of production through public policies, especially the agricultural policy such as rural credit, minimum price guarantee policy and special programs for regional development. , the POLOCENTER. At the heart of these changes are the combined actions of the state and private capital, transforming the economic and social reality of the region, and generating a multiplier effect throughout the production chain. In the analysis, we emphasize that, in the mid-1970s, the Cerrado emerged as one of the most important agricultural regions in Brazil. Rio Verde-GO was the epicenter of the grain revolution due to favorable soil conditions, topography and climate, boosted by a class of producers who adhered to technological advances, placing the region in the age of agribusiness. The study revealed that COMIGO now has a complex organization, resulting from the demands of its members, that Cooperativism can be an alternative for initiatives that intend to maintain the qualities of associative participation and integration and dedicate themselves to developing market activities. And that the technical assistance was of fundamental importance since the planning, execution and monitoring for the good performance in the productivity. In fact, COMIGO is an Agroindustrial Complex, as it acts to integrate agriculture into the industrial sector doubly, as a consumer of the agricultural industry and a supplier of the agroindustry. We hope that these reflections on COMIGO will be the starting point for deeper reflections on local, state and national agricultural cooperativism, and as an alternative for socio-economic development for various areas of the peripheral world that are seeking it today. |
