Resumo: The Units of Integrated Service (IAU) are mixed units, with outpatient care in primary care and emergency care. The UAI's offer more services than the known UBS's (the basic unit of weight reduction), because for the most part are composed by the emergency room, minor surgery, X-rays, observation, wards, and that is found in the structure of the UBS, according to the Manual of the physical structure of the Units Básicas of health (Department of Health, 2006). The greater complexity of UAI's in relation to Basic Health Units (UBS), is naturally in need of management of medical and hospital equipment. The methods used for assessing the viability of the structuring of a nucleus of Clinical Engineering were performed in stages of study and visit. The main stages were: In infrastructure analysis performed in the IAU's selected it was possible to observe that the UAI's were capable of superutilizadas possessing more beds per square meter than recommended by the DRC050. Raised the deficit of beds in each unit, which resulted in a total of 77 beds in deficit. Given this high number, it was identified the need to assess the construction of a new UAI. In relation to hospital equipment, it was possible to observe that the data presented by the CNES were outdated, because after the visits were found 91.8% equipment, selected for this research, more than the listed on this platform. Finally, it was concluded that the need for construction of a nucleus of Clinical Engineering and purchasing all materials needed in order to have more efficiency in the provision of servicing of equipment, performing as well as corrective actions, preventive and calibrations to ensure reliability and security for the patients.
