Resumo: One of the most common problems in the use of conventional wheelchairs is its structural inadequacy towards the particular needs of its users, and that has been traditionally propagated to sports models and cardiovascular evaluation equipment such as ergometers, manocletas, etc. Thus, the fundamental role of this master's thesis was to observe all the inherent limitations and resolve them in a practical and legitimate way, the deep understanding of the functional nature of disabilities and ergonomic and anthropometric needs of dependent on wheelchairs. This paper presents the results of a study that investigated the pathophysiological situation of daily reality of sports wheelchair, proposing a structure in modules, attachable to ergometers. This framework seeks to ensure those people an ideal anatomical adjustment, designing the physiological aspects involving the technical specification of the appropriate model of wheelchairs and exercise assessment protocols. The results are given in the form of structural design that makes up a complex and precise equipment, but easy to use abstraction and adequate mechanical ability to support and safety. The technical aspects of the model involve a whole range of settings that reflect the ergonomic relationships of physiology of people with various physical disabilities, also considering a significant range of measures and body weights. Thus, the equipment complies with the paper suit a wide range of people and their physiological characteristics.
