Resumo: | The purpose of this work is to evaluate the dimensional stability (diameter, cylindricity and circularity) and surface finishing (roughness) of cylindrical holes produced by reaming process with K10 cemented Carbide welded blade reamers in aluminium-silicon 62 (UNI) hypoeutectic cast alloy under different cutting conditions. The following parameter were individually varied: depth of cut, cutting speed, feed rate, cutting fluids, helix angle, number of blades, margin and rake face finishing. During machining, power consumption was recorded by a Hall current sensor. This evaluation consisted in checking the influence of these parameters on the final quality of the holes, which allowed to optimise the cutting conditions of the process. Reamed holes surface was analyzed within scaning electron microscope. Generally, a small depth of cut, low cutting speeds, high feed rates, straight-flute reamers, high number of blades (5), small values of margins, surface roughness of the rake face of the blades around 0,05 pm (parameter Ra) and the use of a semi-synthetic cutting fluid, called here cutting fluid number 1, contribute for the achievement of satisfactory results in terms of hole qualities. |
