Resumo: Considering that the Brazilian legislation establishes the right to accessibility of persons with reduced mobility and that the operation of establishments providing public services, especially those related to health services, must fulfill this requirement, the present work consists of a research on the use of tactile floors in the environment of the school hospital of the Federal University of São Paulo, with reference to areas where services are provided by the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Campus São Paulo. This study intends to obtain technical and practical subsidies, through technical visits, direct observation of the researcher on the area of study and perception of the visually impaired user, through guided tours, considering the NBR 9050 and NBR 16537 standards, for guide procedures for the specification and execution of works in the Department of Engineering and Architecture, Unifesp, in the elaboration of accessibility projects and improvements of existing buildings. The overall goal is to contribute to the accessibility and inclusion and well-being of users, especially visually impaired people. As a result of the studies, it was concluded that the buildings do not meet the technical standards in this respect, most of the analyzed environments do not have tactile floor, in the part that lacks continuity and is insufficient also the way it is implanted for the proper functioning, thus impairing the autonomy and integration of visually impaired users in the hospital-school environment. Another important aspect of this research was the mapping of the conditions and critical points regarding tactile floors, which gives visibility to the main problems, which leads to the need for a review in the sectors, in the programming of projects and works, including accessibility as a priority and in procedures for specifying materials.
