“Procto Help”: aplicativo móvel de seguimento pós-operatório das cirurgias colorretais

Introduction: One of the pillars of postoperative follow-up of colorectal surgeries is access to information on the subject. A mobile app with access to good quality information can help in this context of access to healthcare. Objective: To develop a mobile application with information for patients on postoperative follow-up of colorectal surgeries. Method: The Design Thinking Methodology was used. Phase 1: Discover – Google play and App Store search was performed using the descriptors colorectal surgery and postoperative care; literature review using the keywords colorectal surgery, postoperative care and mobile applications in the MEDLINE, Scielo and Lilacs database and PubMed search site from May 2010 to May 2021, as well as self authored questionnaires prepared by the researcher were sent to 10 participants (5 specialists in coloproctology and 5 patients from the outpatient clinic of the coloproctology medical residence service at Hospital Santa Casa de Misericórdia in Fortaleza); Phase 2: Define – division of topics and content covered and brainstorming sessions; Phase 3: Develop –definition of the prototype informational profile and brainstorming sessions; Phase 4: Deliver – registration and availability of the tool for download. Results:The application named “Procto Help”, available on Google Play Store plataform, includes information on colorectal surgical procedures, peculiarities of the evolution of the diet in the postoperative period and general guidelines on each procedure performed. Conclusion: A mobile application “Procto help” was developed with information for patients about postoperative follow-up of colorectal surgeries.
