Resumo: Objective: the present study aims to develop and develop a prototype of a multiplatforms mobile application to help manage self-medication of eye drops and other medicines for the elderly in their homes. Method: the study was divided into two stages. The first included a bibliographic review on the PubMed portal of the Medline Bibliographic Database, in order to verify the main needs of the elderly at home and the use of mobile applications. From the literature data, functional and non-functional requirements highlighted by the selected scientific studies were identified. Then, there was the phase of analysis, planning and elaboration of a prototype for mobile technology that aimed to assist the elderly in self-management of their medications at home. Results: the literature addressed seven needs of elderly patients who used mobile applications at home. From these notes, it was possible to elaborate 14 functional requirements for the application and 12 nonfunctional requirements. Thus, the prototype for which mobile technology, including installation and use by web (multiple devices), was developed according to the construction planning stages. Conclusion: the present study made it possible to correct substantial errors in the creation of mobile applications that did not appear in development environments due to the version of the databases. In this way, it was possible to create applications for multiple devices, including the description of the development steps, including usability and applicability manual.
