Resumo: | Purpose: to evaluate the nursing staff knowledge about risks and recommendations related to MRI with a focus on patient safety, after directed training. Methods: A descriptive observational study using anonymous questionnaire, applied to the nursing staff containing questions about demographic characteristics of the study subjects and multiple choice questions involving general knowledge about the MRI examination. Participants were divided into two groups: (1) newly admitted nursing professionals who received focused training and (2) the nursing staff who works or has worked in the MRI division. Notes 0-10 were assigned to the questionnaire responses. Results: 80 questionnaires were answered, 53 (66.25%) by group 1 and 27 (33.75%) by group 2; 86.2% were women, 53.8% had technical formation and 40% have never attended any professional development event. There was no statistically significant difference between the successes of the two groups on all assessed issues (p=0.998). Conclusion: The knowledge of newly hired nursing staff after focused training was similar to the knowledge of nursing staff in activity in the MRI division. |
