Resumo: | This research aims at the creation, operation and extinction of the Municipal Institute of Education and Research - IMEP -, in the city of São Paulo. This institute was created in 1968 and intended to end the funnel represented by the admission examination between primary and junior high school. It should also make the teacher training that would take the new model of education of the primary school of eight years to the other municipal schools of the capital using, therefore, experimental classes of application. The experience of the Institute, however, lasted only three years, being transformed into a school soon after the promulgation of the law of reform of education - no 5692 of 1971, Municipal School Celso Leite Ribeiro Filho, in 1972. I aim to understand the culture of this institute and its process of creation, functioning and erasure, from official documentation and the memories of its internal agents. |
