Resumo: The students’ lack of interest in learning content in the school curriculum is one of the major challenges facing teachers today and is perhaps one of the main causes of other problems inherent in the school environment. Driven by this problem, we developed a script with some contents of the elementary and middle school, addressed in the light of Mathematical Modeling. In this context of stimulating students, with the concern of showing them the link between the content taught and the daily, we take advantage of all the potential embedded in problems of Linear Optimization. The results are mainly addressed through examples, but without the abandonment of a certain mathematical formalism. This was done with the aim of strengthening this type of reasoning that is often neglected in basic education. We also present software as one of the resolution methods for the proposed problems, which can be very motivating for a generation so attached to technology.
