Resumo: Introduction: The sedentarism during chilhood and adolescence has being discussed by the scientific community. For girls, the exercise becomes more special, because the corporal composition can influence the menarche age. Moreover, social and emotional factors seem to be negatively affected in overweight girls. Objective: Identify and relate the anthropometric profile, aerobic endurance and the menarche age of girls in the second cycle of the basic school. Methodology: The study?s protocol was approved by CEP of UNIFESP record 0938/11. 197 girls in average of 13,0 + 1,18 years old were evaluate, students of two states school of Atibaia-SP. It was perfomed anthropometric avaliation of skin folds using the Slaughter?s protocol for teen girls and BMI (kg/m2) based on ?Z score? (graphic of percentile) in accord with WHO recommendation. The menarche age was determined by the retrospective method. It was used the linear regression of Pearson and test ?t? of Student to statistical analysis. Results: 22,3% of the girls are overweight and 3,5% with obesity, in accord with the classification proposed by WHO to BMI. 140 teen girls related the menarche. The menarche age average was 12,0 + 1,04 years. The menarche age average for the BMI normal group was significantly superior (12,2 + 0,9 years) than the group with BMI above the recommended (11,6 years dp=1,0), (p=0,00*). Also it was observed that the control of the fat increase is related with aerobic endurance; that is, girls with low VO2 maximum showed high values of fat. Conclusion: The aerobic endurance development during adolescence showed the importance of the prevention of the menarche?s age. Our study showed that 25,8% of the girls have BMI above the recommended; It was observed inverse relation between the age, menarche age and the VO2 maximum indirect; the found suggests that it?s necessary to work with emphasis the endurance during Physical Education classes in basic school.
