Resumo: This research investigated the relationship between the Lula (2003-2010) and Dilma (2011-2016) governments with the largest media conglomerate in the country, Grupo Globo. A brief history of the political influence of the media was carried out and a methodology was established that involved introductions to political contexts, qualitative research with the government's assessment indexes and the electoral results obtained, studies on the Group's media coverage, the main policies communications presented or approved, data on the audience and financial situation of the business conglomerate, figures on investment in state advertising and interviews with former government ministers. From this methodology, a periodization was reached, divided by the moments: Aliança (2003 to 2005), Bargain (2005), Repactuation (2006 to 2013), Break (2013 to 2016). It was guided by the formulations of Antonio Gramsci and Brazilian intellectuals who use their concepts to pursue answers to the question: how does the relationship between PT governments and Grupo Globo contribute to understanding the moments of stability and instability of this hegemonic block of classes in the Brazil? The research concluded that Grupo Globo acted as a private device of hegemony, which was fundamental for the maintenance and disaggregation of the hegemonic class bloc in the country.
