Resumo: The National Health Promotion Policy highlights special relevance to actions aimed at aging and the National Health Policy for the Elderly points to the importance of organizing the health system in the face of population aging, with emphasis on health promotion. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the perception of professionals from the primary care teams in Arroio do Tigre / RS about the health promotion policy actions aimed at the elderly, with a view to contributing to the fostering of a favorable and favorable environment for the elderly. aging. This is a qualitative and cross-sectional study, carried out through a case study in the municipality of Arroio do Tigre / RS. The sample consisted of seven health professionals from the primary care teams who develop actions to promote the health of the elderly, being characterized as intentional and by successive indications, being finalized through data saturation. The instruments used for the collection were the focus group and the individual semi-structured interview. The script with the guiding questions was prepared by the authors based on the National Health Promotion Policy and National Health Policy for the Elderly. Data analysis was performed through the thematic analysis proposed by Minayo (2010). The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Santa Maria (CAAE 25985719.9.0000.5346), and all subjects participated voluntarily and signed the Free and Informed Consent Form. The professionals who participated - sample - were a nutritionist, a social worker, a dental surgeon, two community health workers and two nurses. The mapped actions were group activities, the implantation of the senior citizen's handbook, guidance on individual visits / home visits and campaign days. Considering the social distancing protocols, the elderly stopped participating in the groups, as well as distancing themselves from friends, acquaintances and family members. The categories that denote the perception of professionals from the primary care teams about the health promotion policy actions aimed at the elderly comprised 'access',' the determinants of health ', the' family network ', the' construction of knowledge 'and' comprehensive care '. It should be noted that these categories were interrelated in the context of the actions. From the results of the study, guidelines for promoting the health of the elderly for municipal health management were proposed, with the objective of contributing to the creation and maintenance of an environment conducive and favorable to aging. It is concluded that health promotion, based on an expanded health model, is necessary in primary care services throughout the subjects' entire life cycle.
