Resumo: This Professional Master's research, from the Postgraduate Program in Public Policies and Educational Management, from Research Line 1 – Policies and Management of Basic and Higher Education, addresses the topic of Large-scale Assessment in the Elementary School in Santa Maria county public schools and making up post-pandemic learning. The aim is to understand the perception of teachers and school managers about large-scale assessments, and the learning difficulties of the elementary students in this context. The general objective is to investigate and analyze the assessment indexes and their results from the initial years of the teaching program São Carlos County School and, based on this, present a project focusing on restoring student learning. This study was supported by the qualitative approach, a case study analyzing public educational policies, seeking to identify how learning recovery occurs in Santa Maria/RS county schools. The theoretical framework was built based on the authors: Secchi (2010), Bergue (2011), Azevedo (2004), Chrispino (2020), Hofling (2001) and the legislation in the context of basic education. The subjects involved will be the members of the school management and the teachers in charge of the 2nd and 5th-year classes. The techniques used to construct the data will be bibliographical research and a questionnaire. Based on this, this study seeks to contribute to the recovery of students' learning, and that its effects are positive in the large-scale assessments carried out by students in the county.
