Resumo: | Educational softwares have been largely used for helping patients groups. The outcomes on acceptance of that kind of tool are not completely known. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of educational software for Colostomized patient on their Quality of Life. An individual interview was done with 7 male patients aged between 47 and 80 years old, after the presentation of Procto Self-Care (educational software). The group was stimulated to interact to the program. The Wheel of Wellness model was the base for subjects evaluation and interpretation of presentation sections in order to find out their real feelings about their colostomized condition. Analysis of the dialogs concluded that colostomized quality of life is related to the amount of information they received since the pre-operatory period. Previous experience with computers was not necessary for using that tool. Oldest people did not relate significant modification in their life style after Colostomy, keeping the same physical activities, work and leisure. The best contribution is the group acceptance in using educational software for information and health-care |
