This work constitutes the study of transformations and dynamics of one of the most tradicional agrarian system of Rio Grande do Sul (RS): the livestock or beef cattle, developed in production units in the rural areas of Caçapava do Sul/RS city. Developed in small, medium and big properties, some of them familiar, this activity has a strong influence in the economic and political dynamic of the city. Thus, it's important to comprehend the evolution of this particular system, in an enviroment that the transformations of the agrarian panorama are occuring in an accelerated way, as a result of expansion of the explorer and capital accumulator capitalism system, highlighting, in this way, the expansion of soybean and eucalyptus cultivation, intensified during the last ten years. Thereby, it's fundamental, in this research, to know the ranchers's point of view about their production mode to the future, so, this way, it can be understood the significant sociospatial ongoing changes in the agrarian area of the city. The research is in dialectical method, in a methodology configurated in four steps, to embrace the research's proposed objectives: bibliographic revision; secondary data research; field research in the city; and results analysis, having as product this text elaboration. Thereby, this study intends, through the analysis of the dynamic of rural area, identify the responsible factors for the ongoing transformations in the rural area of Caçapava do Sul/RS, where used to predominate the traditional livestock systems of extensive type, with strong influence in the cultural and economic aspects, and where, currently, combine other dinamic activities as soy and forestry, with strong impacts over the landscape.
