Resumo: | This work analyzes the way in which the English poet William Blake portrays the characters and events cited in the poem The French Revolution. Special attention is focused on the way that the fictional representation adopted by Blake describes the participation of these characters to create a lyrical narrative of revisionist character, in comparison to their respective roles played in the French Revolution. In addition, the historical events mentioned in the poem are commented and discussed in order to establish a relation between the actions of the fictional point of view, as attributed according to Blake's perspective, and the events belonging to the period. Finally, it was sought to investigate the poem as a lyrical narrative that occurs independently of the Blakean mythology, a recurrence in the whole of his work that was absent in The French Revolution, a singular fact in the poet's artistic production. |
