Resumo: | Throughout the history of humanity the child has assumed many conceptions, influenced by the context in which it was immersed. Until seventeen century, there was no conception for child, só, there was nothing to distinguish an adult from a child. During Industrial Revolution new socials and economics paradigms have emerged, on a accelerated world, focusing in efficiency and productivity. At that time, the child was perceived as a cheap labor force, there was no concern about the development of the child, who was seen as a small adult. During the eighteenth century, influenced by Christian Catholicism, the child came to be perceived as a special being, marking the beginning of the child's modern perception, which culminated in the emergence of legal mechanisms in order to guarantee the child the possibility of experiencing its childhood. However, despite the changes of childhood paradigms, society is still immersed in the socioeconomic precepts of production, which is directly linked to the maximum use of time. For this reason the child has its childhood threatened again, the parents, in the intention of preparing their children for the world, end up filling more and more the time of the children with activities directed to the productivity, and they not even know that they're taking off from the child their time to be a child, to play, to know the world naturally and at his time. This theoretical study aims to propose a reflection about the accelerated perception of time, productivity and social standardization, challenges imposed on the adult world that, consequently, interfere in the child world. The word "child" refers to the action of playing, considered something natural of the human being and the main possibility of communication in childhood, Through the playing the child is capable to understand, to appropriate and interact with the world that surrounds it. However, due to the new ways of life assumed in the present society the incessant search for results often overlaps the experience of this phase, where the free and spontaneous playing is being "suffocated" by strictly utilitaristic pursuits, therefore, the child is perceived as a manipulable being, who must be guided to a successful future, abdicating its experience of the present. |
