Resumo: This research departs from observations, reflections, reviews and approaches conducted from my own production of books art, establishing convergence with the work of the artist Luise Weiss, aiming to collaborate and demonstrate the presence of visual language of books art in Brazil and in contemporary art. In order to do so, authors and artists who are related to the universe of books were approached, through questions about the origin of this object and its unfoldment within art, which give rise to what it is today. In addition, data about Luise Weiss is presented as well as the reasons by which she is inserted in this research. Through this research, it was noticed that the visual language of the book art is present in Brazil despite its little study, and also, from the convergence between Weiss’s work and the author differences arise, which end up valuing the work of the author as an artist.
