Resumo: Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have established a new paradigm for human relations, imposing other shades of skills in different spaces of social interaction, especially in the organizational sphere. The interaction of human beings with technologies has reached such an intricate level that the process of digital transformation of society is inexorable and not only involves the physical and abstract technological apparatuses themselves, but also engenders new public and “private” spaces that block calls digital competences for adequate performance of different matters, mainly in the organizational environment. Faced with the emergence of this theme that seems to have no end, which suggests strong impacts on human life in all its dimensions, as a way of balancing the dissonant interests of the workforce and workers, the following research problem lies: how to evaluate the level of digital skills of a given workforce? Adopting an essentially qualitative nature subsidized by documentary, bibliographical, case study and action research types of research, this exploratory study, based on deepening the themes “Skills”, “Digital Skills”, “Gioia Method” and “DigComp”, made efforts to propose a method to map the digital skills of the workforce. Based on the Gioia Method, the concatenation of 1st order elements, arising from a type of field research, and 2nd order, resulting from theoretical-practical abstractions, possible, in the form of 3rd order elements, the achievement of the objectives of this research, whose theory was applied to the case of the workforce that integrates the operational level of the core activity of electoral offices in Minas Gerais. Given the lack of academic-scientific consensus on this topic and the multiplicity of instruments and guidelines for evaluating digital competencies, the proposed method intends to bring together specialized skills from different types of organizations to the same extent that it connects with the subjectivity of the respondents, the which does not suggest that the subject is exhausted, on the contrary: it sheds light on the human dimension of organizations in the irremediable and changing situation of digital transformation.
