Resumo: | In order to approach geographic sciences within its military epistemological application, the generation of information on the Lake Maracaibo basin is valued as a portion of the Venezuelan territory characterized by the concentration of energy and natural resources that require the application of territorial defense measures Compatible with its natural physical characteristics. Using the proposed automated geomorphometric mapping by Silvera (2014), remote sensing images (ASTERGDEM, MODIS, etc.) and the parameters of the scientific and technological support agreement signed between the Brazilian Army and the Federal University of Santa Maria; As data-generating resources that were linked by means of geoprocessing tools available in the Geographic Information System (ArcGIS® 10.1) to evaluate the different individual and collective influence levels exerted by the factors (soil, hydrography, precipitation and vegetation) Of the watershed, with the process of military mobility on caterpillars. Finally, from this understanding, five sectors classified as optimal, adequate, restrictive, very restrictive or impeditive were delimited according to their degrees of homogeneity in potentialities and / or restrictions, using the strengths of cartography in GIS environment, it was possible to observe The reduction of processing time and the increase in the amount of related data in this type of military analysis. |
