Resumo: The roughness reflects the user's perception regarding the comfort of the traffic and the maintenance costs of the highway and the vehicles. Therefore, it is necessary and important to measure the respective parameter still in the executive phase, seeking to investigate the possible variables that affect it at this stage and may have an impact on the highway's operational performance. In this context, the present work aims at the executive follow-up and evaluation of the longitudinal irregularity during the execution of the constituent layers during the implementation of road sections and follow-up of the track restoration work, evaluating the effective reduction of the IRI parameter. Also, when there is no reduction, identify aspects related to this behavior. For the identification of the factors, were characterized the constituent materials of the pavement structures and carried out detailed executive monitoring with temperature control of the CA with thermographic camera. For the measurement of the roughness, Merlin and Inertial Profilometer were used. From this monitoring, it was verified that situations that caused high indexes of longitudinal roughness were repeated in the different construction companies, being: the irregular distribution of material by the asphalt concrete paver; the manual finishing of the surface combined with the "salting" technique; complementing/distributing material manually; longitudinal and transverse joints without due care with finishing; the execution on rainy days and the temperature differences in the running cloth. These findings show that the roughness is extremely sensitive to the usual and recurrent construction problems of the pavement.
