Resumo: | Melochia chamaedrys St.Hil. is a plant that is locally known as douradinha , it is found in South America, more exactly in the south of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. In the state of Rio Grande do Sul , the species M. chamaedrys is used by the local people in the treatment of many diseases, including cancer and hypertension. The present research describes especially the extraction, isolation and characterization of two new compounds: chamaedrona (20) and chamaedrine (28) as well as the identification of 8 (eight) compounds that are already known: parasorbic acid (25), adoutine-X (29), atidesmone (19), (-)-epicatechin (31), propacine (26), scutianine B (9) and C (30) and waltherione A (18) of the roots of Melochia chamaedrys. Its structures were identified by spectroscopy methods including 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. Besides that, bioautography microbiological tests were made with these compounds and with antidesmone and its derivatives. Chamaedrone and antidesmone derivatives showed a strong activity against bacteria and fungus, while antidesmone and chamaedrine did not show any activity. |
